AMERICUS -- The stage production of Alicia and Huff Croxton's "Dixie's High Point of Beauty" is slated for this weekend.
The original production, which is rated PG-13 for adult content and language, will be presented at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rylander Theater in Americus.
Tickets are $10 at the door, with proceeds benefiting Act Up Junior Theater.
Set in the small Georgia town of Jolene, "Dixie's High Point of Beauty" centers around the upcoming engagement celebration of Creighton Alexander and the pretentious Pamela. As the soiree nears, key townsfolk head into the beauty shop for which the play is named to get ready. Meanwhile, the pending nuptials are threatened when the potential groom relives the good old days with a former sweetheart, motivating a fearful Pamela to turn the engagement party into an unforgettable wedding.
A cast of 15 will bring the comedy to life, including Francis Michas, Chet Dreschel, Alicia Croxton, Huff Croxton and Lacy Dollar.
