ALBANY -- Flint River Habitat for Humanity, Girls Incorporated of Albany and Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia are once again teaming up for the Daddy Daughter Dance.
The 12th annual event will be held 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday at the Albany Civic Center, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. for picture taking.
Tickets are $30 per dad-and-daughter couple, with $10 for each additional daughter. They are available at Flint River Habitat for Humanity, Girls Incorporated of Albany and Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia offices.
On the day of the event, tickets are $40 per couple after 5 p.m. at the door.
Friday's event will feature a disc jockey, dancing, a light show and kid-friendly food.
It's an event that has grown in participation over the years.
"Last year, we had well over 2,500," Bryant said. "It's the one event that everybody looks forward to."
The yearly dance brings a variety of Albany daughters and fathers for a night out.
According to the Girls Incorporated executive director, this year's dance will include a few tweaks.
"We decided to change it up a little bit," Bryant said.
That includes adding a bright mix of additional color to the valentine-themed decorations.
Plus, the evening will undergo a little extra kick with illuminated balloons.
"And each girl will get a glow necklance," Bryant said.
