ALBANY -- Theatre Albany will pay tribute to a country-music legend this week as it kicks off a three week production of "A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline."

Performances will be held at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Feb. 12-13. Matinees will be presented at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and Feb. 14 and 21.

Tickets are $22 for adults, $17 for senior citizens and $12 for students and active-duty military.

Created by Dean Regan with Charlie Dick as production adviser, "A Closer Walk" is a musical set in Cline's hometown of Winchester, Va., with the town's radio station serving as the base.

"It's a different kind of show," Theatre Albany Artistic Director Mark Costello said.

Theatre Albany veteran Jennifer Varnadoe stars as Cline. The cast also includes Costello, Lon McNeil, Steve Halstead, Doug Loerber and Steve Strowbridge, with band members including Suzanne Unger, Anthony LaPorte, Strowbridge, Charlie Meyer and Matt Hoover.

Meyer also provides musical direction for the production.
