Albany police chief to speak to seniors
ALBANY -- In honor of Black History Month, Albany Police Chief John Proctor will speak next month at Albany's Downtown Senior Center.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the center, located at 311 Pine Ave.

Gospel concert set for Saturday
SUMNER -- A night of Southern gospel music is planned for this weekend.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday in the old Sumner school in Sumner.
Admission is free, but a love offering will be accepted.
Saturday's concert features Higher Praise and the Believers.

Relay for Life team hosts dance
SYLVESTER -- The Worth County Board of Education Relay for Life Team is hosting a Valentine Daddy Daughter Dance Saturday for fathers and girls ages 1-12 years old.
The dance is scheduled for 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at Worth County High School gym.
Tickets are $20 per father and daughter couple, with $5 for each additional daughter. They are available at each Worth County school or the Worth County Board of Education, or at the door the night of the dance.
Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
The event, which requires Sunday best attire, will include pictures in the multi-purpose room from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Refreshments will also be served throughout the dance in the gym.
Valentine Family Day offers crafting
ALBANY -- The Albany Recreation and Parks Department and Albany Museum of Art will help families feel the love this weekend as they partner to present a Valentine's Day-themed Family Day Saturday.
The free celebration for all ages is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the museum, located at 311 Meadowlark Drive.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants will create Valentines and hand-made gifts, play in the AMAzing Space interactive art gallery and enjoy museum exhibits.

Tift Regional to present gala
TIFTON -- Tift Regional Medical Center will present its seventh annual Hearts and Diamonds Gala this weekend.
Deemed "An Evening in Tuscany," the black-tie event is slated for 7 p.m.-midnight at the U.G.A. Tifton Campus Conference Center.
Tickets are $125 per person, with proceeds going toward the center's Heart Safe Community program.
Saturday's gala will include music by Mo' Sol, food, dancing, a diamond give-away and a silent auction.
