ALBANY - The Darton College and Albany State women's basketball teams are thinking pink this week.

Darton will wear pink uniforms in its 5:30 p.m. home game today against Georgia Perimeter, and the Lady Rams will do the same in Tuesday's 5:30 p.m. home game against Clark Atlanta.

Proceeds from the games will benefit the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.

Darton even will tip off with a pink-and-white basketball today.

"We're really excited about being able to participate in raising awareness for breast cancer," Darton coach Laura Blackwell said. "We just want to get the message out."

Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for those under 12, and Darton has already sold, according to Blackwell, more than 100 pink shirts which will generate proceeds toward the cause.

Albany State will charge a $1 donation to the cause for Tuesday's game.

"I just think it brings awareness to the problem of breast cancer," Albany State women's coach Robert Skinner said. "The money goes toward research, and the research is making it possible for those with breast cancer to live longer."
