ALBANY -- A Bronwood man swerved his Chevrolet pickup to avoid being rear-ended by a rapidly approaching car, hit the median, flipped and suffered fatal injuries after being ejected onto the ground at about 1:15 a.m. Monday, authorities said.
Adrian Serrano, 46, died at 9:30 p.m., said Albany Police Department spokeswoman Phyllis Banks. A passenger in the pickup, Theresa Gonzales, 36, of Bronwood suffered minor injuries, Banks said.
The crash occurred on the Liberty Expressway as Serrano drove west near the Jefferson Street exit.
Police would like to speak to the driver of what appeared to be a light blue Chevy Impala, Ford Taurus or another make of car with the same body style, which was seen driving away from the crash, said police Sgt. William Dowdell.
The driver of another vehicle, for which police had no description, was also wanted for questioning by police, Dowdell said.
Anyone knowing of any drivers at the scene that morning or with
additional information are asked to call Albany police at (229) 431-2100 or Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477) or (229) 431-3288.
