ALBANY -- Reported missing last week by her parents, Heather Spargo, 14, of Albany was found by a San Antonio, Texas, Police Department detective Monday night, police officials said.
She was not alone.
Police arrested Enrique Miguel Deluna, 23, of Indiana on charges of sexual assault of a child and put him in Bexar County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond, said San Antonio Police Department spokesman Matthew Porter.
Spargo was last seen before 5 p.m. on Feb. 2 at her home on the 700 block of 16th Avenue. She was reported missing to the Albany Police Department by her parents on Feb. 5.
"She is well, and her parents are probably on the way to Albany to pick her up at the airport," said APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks.
Apparently the teen met Deluna through the online social Web site MySpace, the Web site mysanantonio.com reported. The two exchanged photos and text messages, it added.
A relationship developed and Deluna came to Albany, where he and Spargo caught a bus to San Antonio. Deluna's cousin gave them a place to stay in that city, the Web site reported.
When Spargo returns to Albany, police detectives will talk to her as part of their investigation, Banks said.
