The Albany Long Term Financial Planning Committee which oversees a trust fund created from credits from MEAG has voted unanimously to spend $1.2 million on Water, Gas & Light Commission repairs and the city gang unit.
The decision, which must be approved by the Albany City Commission, would provide WG&L with $1 million to fund repairs and the city with $200,000 to help fund its gang task force.
Albany City Commissioner Tommie Postell has been named chair of the committee, which also adopted a set of bylaws this morning.
