Deerfield-Windsor's boys basketball team opens the GISA AAA state tournament tonight at First Presbyterian Day in Macon with an eye on winning a state title. The Knights finished second in the state last year, and came back with a vengeance and a 24-1 record with a team that gets three or four players in double figures almost every night.
The Knights, who won their sixth region title last week, meet Weber in the first round at 8:30 p.m. Southland Academy which finished third in the Region 3-AAA tournament, opens against Mt. Vernon Presbyterian at 4 p.m.
Sherwood Christian Academy's boys, fresh from their first region title in six years, open the GISA AA tournament against Piedmont at 8:30 tonight at Middle Georgia, and Southwest Georgia Academy faces Brentwood at 7 tonight at Middle Georgia.
Terrell Academy's boys open play in the GISA A tournament at Andrew College in Cuthbert against David Emanuel at 5:30 p.m.. Randolph Southern plays Briarwood at 4 p.m. at Andrew College, and Westwood opens against Thomas Jefferson at 7 p.m.. at Andrew.
