Art contest celebrates 'Soup'
FITZGERALD -- The Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County Arts Council is holding an art contest in anticipation of the upcoming Wild Chicken Festival in Fitzgerald.
Entry deadline is 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Entry fee per person per three pieces of art is $5 for ages 11 and younger, $10 for ages 12-18 and $15 for ages 19 and up.
Art being sought includes paintings, photography, sculpture, stained glass, quilts, carvings and popular art pertaining to the theme of "Chicken Soup."
Cash prizes total $2,000.
The art will be displayed at the March 20 festival, as well as at an exhibit in the Carnegie Center in Fitzgerald from March 2-April 16.

Luncheon to launch March for Babies
ALBANY -- The March of Dimes Georgia Chapter will hold its March for Babies kick-off luncheon on Feb. 26.
The event begins at noon in the Kirkland conference room at Albany Technical College.

Talent sought for national album
Teenage musician Sean Hardin is seeking fellow young musicians to take part in a national drunk-driving awareness CD.
Participants must be 18 years old or younger, submitting a MP3 or WAV file of an original recorded song. In addition, the participants' name, age, hometown and parents' contact information must be included.
