ALBANY -- The driver of a red 2005 Silverado left his pickup at the scene of a crash at 12:45 a.m. only to be arrested by the Albany Police Department officers hours later, police say.
Bobby William Gray, 41, was charged with serious injury by vehicle, hit and run with injury and damage, suspended driver's license, no insurance, open container and failure to yield on a left turn, the report stated.
"He was arrested at 7:32," said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman. "It was too long a time to give him an alcohol (blood) test."
The driver and passenger of the 2002 Ford Taurus that Gray smashed into at Slappey Boulevard and 11th Avenue were extricated by emergency staff from the Albany Fire Department, the report stated.
Driver Matavious Mackeroy, 19, and his passenger, D'airi Dunham, 17, both of Leary, suffered minor lacerations, bruises and abrasions, Banks said. They were transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital by Dougherty County EMS, she added.
