ALBANY -- After packing a bag and leaving, a Dougherty County man returned home to attack his wife and children, a Dougherty County Police official said.
Police took out warrants to arrest Montre Davis, 35, 236 Nixon Drive, on two counts simple battery, two counts of cruelty to children and criminal damage to property, said police Capt. Jim Sexton.
"We are looking for Davis and a black Honda," Sexton said. "The (Dougherty County) Sheriff's Office also seeks him on warrants."
According to police reports, Montre Davis argued with his wife, Tanga, 34, before 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. He packed up and left the home, only to return a short time later to knock on the door.
"He broke the door down and went to the bedroom, where he broke the door down to get to his wife and two daughters," Sexton said. "His wife tried to stop him."
Davis hit his wife, one of his daughters and then choked the other daughter, Sexton added. He then fled, Sexton said.
Police were dispatched to the residence at 10:47 p.m. and officers arrived 10 minutes later, Sexton said.
A search of the area did not find Davis. Warrants were issued for his arrest.
Anyone with information on Davis whereabouts can call the Dougherty County Police at (239) 430-6600.
