LEE SWIMMING: The Lee County swimming team won the overall competition at a meet Saturday hosted by Coffee County.
Although Lee coach Kelly Futch did not have point totals, she added the girls won their division and the boys were fifth.
"It was awesome going against 15 other teams," Futch said. "The girls scored so high in points, we were able to bring the guys' fifth-place finish to us overall being in first."
According to Futch, her girls team won eight events. Haley Kerrey won the 100 breaststroke (1:15.43), 200 free (2:22.56) and 100 free (57.33) and was on two winning relay teams -- the 400 free (4:08.8) and 200 medley (2:07.81). The Lady Trojans also won the 200 free relay (1:52.43).
Casey Schoenberger, who was on all three winning relay teams, also won the 50 free (26.21) and Madison Holcomb was first on the 500 free (6:27.66).
