The Georgia environmental writer will discuss and sign copies of her three books Tuesday night.

MOULTRIE -- South Georgia author Janisse Ray will return to the region next week for a lecture and book signing at Moultrie-Colquitt County Library Auditorium.
The free event will kick off at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the library, located at 204 Fifth St., S.E., Moultrie.
Part of the "We the People" program funded through the Georgia Humanities Council, Ray's lecture will include discussion on her books, "Ecology of a Cracker Childhood," "Wild Card Quilt" and "Pinhook: Finding Wholeness in a Fragmented Land."
A native of Baxley, Ray is an ecology activist whose work can also be seen in Georgia Wildlife and National Geographic Wildlife magazines. She is also a nature commentator for Georgia Public Radio and was instrumental in the formation of the Georgia Nature-Based Tourism Association.
