Search and rescue team members search for a different missing person, discovered the body floating the Apalachicola River around 10 p.m. last night, about 25 miles from the Jim Woodruff Dam in Florida.
Investigators say the body has been taken to a lab for positive identification.
Slappey was reported missing after he failed to return home from duck hunting on Lake Seminole in December. Although some of his personal effects were found initially, search and rescue teams failed to locate Slappey's body after days of searching.
Ironically, the body was found by search and rescue personnel who were dispatched to the area in reference to another missing boater, whose boat had capsized nearby.
