ASU to host workshop, benefit for Haiti
ALBANY — Albany State University has two opportunities for Southwest Goergians this weekend, the first of which is a firearms workshop Saturday.
The free workshop, which focuses on Second Amendment rights, firearm safety and legal issues associated with firearms, is scheduled for 9 a.m.- 1p.m. in the school’s ACAD Auditorium.
The following day, the university will host a Hope for Haiti Benefit Concert, with proceeds being donated to relief efforts in Haiti.
The event will kick off at 6 p.m. Sunday in HPER Gymnasium, with doors opening at 5 p.m.
Admission to the concert is a monetary donation for Haiti relief, with all donations going toward the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.

Benefit offers chance to win trip to Ireland
ALBANY — Southwest Georgians have a chance to win a trip to the Emerald Isle as the Albany Symphony Orchestra is selling raffle tickets for a trip to Ireland.
Tickets are $50 for one chance to win or $100 for three chances, with proceeds benefiting the Symphony.
The winning trip enables two travelers to fly round-trip from Atlanta to Dublin and spend eight days accompanied by a professional tour director to explore sights of Ireland while staying in hotels, eating full Irish breakfasts each day and dining on three, three–course dinners.

Humane Society to host pet adoption
LEESBURG — The Humane Society of Terrell County will hold a pet adoption day this weekend.
The event is scheduled for 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday at Tractor Supply Co. on Ledo Road in Lee County.

CAMILLA — The Southwest Georgia Regional Commission will hold its January meeting today.
