ALBANY -- An Albany man has been sentenced to a half-century in prison and lifetime probation after a Dougherty County jury returned 11 guilty verdicts Friday on charges including sodomy, child molestation and aggravated child molestation.
Dougherty Chief Assistant District Attorney Chris Cohilas, who prosecuted the case against Tyrone Walker, said it was "the worst child molestation case I've tried in my seven years in this office."
Walker was convicted of sexually assaulting two family members over a two-year period.
Walker's 50-year prison sentence comes without the possibility of parole. Once that is served, he will be on probation the remainder of his life, the prosecutor said.
"My deepest desire is that somehow the victims in this case are able to erase some of the damage and move on with their lives," Cohilas said. "This monster (Walker) got what he deserved."
