Strang was appealing Davis' recommendation, which came after he claims there was ongoing discord within the city attorney's office brought on by Strang's supposed unprofessionalism and negligence.
Strang, who has filed a grievance against Davis, contends that it was Davis, not her, that contributed to the friction in the office when he retaliated against her after she told city human resources officials that he had a firearm in his desk -- setting in motion a chain of events that would ultimately lead the city commission to suspend him for three days.
