APD develops person of interest in weekend shooting
APD Chief John Proctor reported to the Albany City Commission this morning that a person of interest has been identified in the shooting at P&P Hardware at 2500 N. Slappey Blvd. Owner Walter Phelps, 67, was shot about 8 a.m. Saturday by a would-be robber. The suspect fled without taking anything. Phelps remains hospitalized at Phoebe Putney.
