BRUNSWICK -- In a special called meeting held this morning, the Glynn County Board of Commissioners voted to appoint Alan Ours as county administrator.
Ours, who has served as Lee County administrator since May of 2006, will begin his duties in Glynn County on Aug. 9. Ours said this afternoon that his last day with Lee County will be Aug. 6.
"I have to say that leaving Lee County will be a bittersweet experience," Ours said. "I've developed good friendships here, and I've enjoyed working with the professional staff.
"But I see Glynn County as a place where I can work until I retire, and that's a great place to retire."
