DWS star Brown headed to Middle Georgia for hoops

ALBANY — Reggie Brown, who helped Deerfield-Windsor win the GISA Class AAA state boys basketball title, has signed with Middle Georgia College in Cochran, where he hopes to play at for two years and then move on to a four-year school.

“I think Reggie can become a very fine college player,” DWS basketball coach and athletic director Gordy Gruhl said. “I think he has only begun to scratch the surface, and I think Middle Georgia is a very good place for him to go and develop his skills. They send a lot of players to four-year schools.”

Brown, a 6-foot-6 post, was Deerfield’s leading scorer, averaging 17 points per game, and he also grabbed an average of nine rebounds a game and blocked two shots a game.
