ALBANY, Ga. — With the company’s CEO in from London in for the occasion, Coats and Clark, along with local officials, officially opened a new distribution center at 901 Holley Drive moments ago.

Paul Forman of London, CEO of Coats PLC, the parent company of Coats North America, said he was proud of the reception his company has received in Albany and the business opportunities the city has provided.

The 400,000-square-foot distribution center is Coats’s hub for North America, consolidating its distribution centers for the continent. The center will provide 40 new jobs and, just as importantly, help secure the 300-plus jobs at Coats North America’s Albany manufacturing plant at Clark Avenue.

While this is the only expansion project on the books for the Albany area, Forman hinted that there could possibly be more investments sometime in the future.

Coats recently signed a $1 billion manufacturing deal with a European company.
