Police/Fire/EMS for July 27, 2010

ALBANY -- Albany Police Department officers responded to at least 43 incidents Sunday, according to reports. The incidents included:

-- Domestic disputes (unfounded) on the 2100 block of Waddell Avenue, the 500 block of West Roosevelt Avenue and the 1300 block of Avalon Avenue;

-- Thefts by taking on the 2300 block of Greenleaf Court and the 1700 block of West Highland Avenue;

-- Motor vehicle theft on the 2100 block of Acker Drive;

-- Driving without a license on the 2500 block of Clark Avenue;

-- Criminal trespass on the 700 block of 11th Avenue, the 900 block of Sixth Avenue, 200 block of East Oakridge Drive, the 1000 block of Davidson Street, the 200 block of Slater King Drive, the 1000 block of Sixth Avenue, the 600 block of North Slappey Boulevard and the 1500 block of North Monroe Street;

-- Possession of marijuana on the 2500 block of Dawson Road;

-- Vandalism on the 2000 block of Tompkins Avenue;

-- Shoplifting on the 1600 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard, the 2500 block of Dawson Road and the 2600 block of Dawson Road;

-- Possession of cocaine 1400 block of East First Avenue;

-- Criminal damage on the 1500 block of Fifth Avenue;

-- Disorderly conduct on the 200 block of North Jefferson Street and the 1300 block of Mercantile Drive;

-- Entering auto on the 1200 block of West Broad Avenue;

-- Suicide attempt on the 1600 block of Gardner Drive;

-- Simple battery on the 100 block of U.S. Highway 19 South and the 500 block of Swift Street;

-- Unruly child on the 400 block of Alice Avenue;

-- Open container on the 300 block of Cherry Street;

-- Robbery by sudden snatching of a purse on the 300 block of Thornton Drive;

-- Battery (domestic violence) on the 1200 block of West Lincoln Avenue, 500 block of West Second Avenue and the 2400 block of Nottingham Way;

-- D.U.I. on the 600 block of Bonnyview Avenue;

-- Burglary on the 700 block of Meadowland Drive, 1300 block of Mercantile Drive, the 600 block of Louis Avenue and the 700 block of Lippitt Drive.

DOUGHERTY EMS: Emergency Medical Services responded to 46 calls Sunday. There were 32 medical calls, 12 trauma calls and two other calls. Medical calls included one respiratory problem, two people fainted, one nausea, vomiting, two altered mental status, one diabetic issue, one seizure, one fever, two miscellaneous pain calls and 21 various medical calls. Trauma calls included two vehicle crash injuries, six falls, two fights and two people were cut. Other calls are typically standby for other units and patient transport.

ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to 19 calls, including nine activated alarms, one vehicle fire, one cooking fire, one trash fire, one chemical investigation, unauthorized burning, two building fires and three EMS assists.
