GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Preseason Player of the Year Christian Ponder and a league-high five players from North Carolina's defense headlined the preseason all-Atlantic Coast Conference Team that was announced Wednesday on the final day of ACC Media Days.
FSU's other First Team selection was offensive lineman Rodney Hudson, while Georgia Tech placed on player on the First Team offense, center Sean Bedford.
Neither FSU or Georgia Tech had a player named to the First Team defense.
The 25 selections were determined by a vote of 52 media members who attended the Media Days.
Clemson safety DeAndre McDaniel was named on a league-high 48 ballots. The Tar Heels' defense finished sixth nationally in total defense last year. It was represented by defensive linemen Robert Quinn and Marvin Austin, linebacker Quan Sturdivant and defensive backs Kendric Burney and Deunta Williams.
Four Boston College players were honored. Miami also had four selections. Two went to Matt Bosher, the pick at both kicker and punter.
