ALBANY, Ga. -- The Albany Herald now has a new tool to keep you informed throughout the day about news and events that affect South Georgia.
In addition to albanyherald.com, the paper has joined hundreds of media outlets around the country in joining the popular social networking site Facebook as a means to further expand our coverage.
Like with our news site, breaking news and sports will be posted throughout the day as it happens. But adding the Facebook component will allow readers to participate in discussions, upload photos of news that you see you happening and interact with news staff.
Additionally, albanyherald.com will be expanding to include new blog features. The popular weekly "Local Government 101" segment is now on the site and will be updated more often with commentary on government issues and happenings.
Reporter Terry Lewis will also debut his blog on the site in the coming week. Lewis' blog will feature a variety of topics including information on the race between U.S. Rep. Sanford Bishop and Republican Challenger Mike Keown.
Both sites will continue to allow and promote feedback and participation from the readers.
Readers can add The Herald on our Facebook page and sign up for our breaking news alerts at albanyherald.com.
