ALBANY, Ga. -- A rotting oak tree split and fell pulling down power lines across Sylvester Road its intersection with Olive Street about 2 p.m. today. There were no injuries involved in the incident.
Albany Police Department officers arrived on the scene and stopped traffic in both directions from crossing over the live wires across Sylvester Road for about 10 minutes while crews from Water, Gas and Light removed the wires.
Crews then systematically began cutting up the fallen section of the tree and repairing the power lines.
