SYLVESTER, Ga. -- A Sylvester woman fatally shot her son after her held her and his girlfriend at gunpoint Tuesday.
About 9 p.m., authorities were dispatched in reference to a shooting at 803 N. Isabella St. When officers arrived, Chris Bunn was lying in the doorway with a gunshot wound to the chest. Authorities immediately started CPR at the scene.
Upon investigating the incident, it was discovered that Bunn had beaten his girlfriend, Kayla Renee Roberts, and held both her and his mother, Brenda Haire, hostage at gunpoint. Haire eventually fired on Bunn.
"This was a family violence situation," said Sylvester Police Chief Alfred Anderson. "What's more tragic is that the mother shot him."
Anderson confirmed that Bunn had a history of erratic behavior.
