ALBANY, Ga. -- A man waltzed into Infinity Salon on the 100 block of Jackson Street, spotted uniform police and bolted out the door at 6 p.m. Friday.
"The officers were doing a routine walk downtown, talking to business owners and people," said Albany Police Department Officer J. Johnson. "The guy parked his Cadillac, went in the hair salon, saw the two officers and ran away."
Despite calling the man a "known drug dealer," Johnson did not immediately release the name of the man, nor did he say what the man would be charged with.
The man had to be treated by Dougherty County EMS at the scene.
Police called the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit and it responded with Coco, the drug sniffing K-9 member of the unit. Coco got busy and indicated there were drugs in the 1997 Burgundy Cadillac ElDorado, officers said.
At about 6:30 p.m. the Cadillac was being towed to impound and drug unit officers were seeking a search warrant. No further information was immediately available.
