ALBANY, Ga. -- Winds whipping at 28-38 mph have caused numerous limbs to collapse onto power lines in Albany, disrupting electrical service in some sections of town.
Officers have been directing traffic at several locations where traffic lights have gone out while firefighters with the Albany Fire Department have been assisting with removing limbs from power lines.
Currently, there is only one Water, Gas & Light Commission crew that is responding to the outages.
A representative from WG&L said the utility company is working to restore the power as quickly as possible.
Power outages have been reported in the 1200 block of Hilltop Drive, the 2300 block of Devon Street, the 100 block of Patrol Drive and a traffic light is out on Gillionville Road.
