ALBANY -- Officers with the Albany Police Department said Monday afternoon they are continuing to investigate the death of an Albany man whose body was found Sunday behind a home on Cotton Avenue.
The body of Vincent Leon Grant, 50, was found by a passerby on the 500 block of Cotton Avenue around 9:34 a.m. Sunday, said APD Spokesperson Phyllis Banks.
"Grant's body was found lying in the rear of an abandoned building," she said. "There was no apparent trauma to the body."
Banks said police are treating this investigation as a homicide as they do all suspicious deaths.
"We treat them as homicides until no foul play is determined or a natural cause of death can be determined," she said.
Police said there was no apparent cause of death of Grant when they responded to the scene.
"We are currently awaiting a toxicology report from the crime lab," said Banks.
She said Grant has family in Dougherty County.
