COCHRAN -- The third season of the upstart Albany Tech men's basketball team saw its year end Friday night in a 90-76 loss in the Region XVII Tournament semifinals to No. 1 seed Middle Georgia.
The Titans' record ends at 16-16, although the season was highlighted by ATC making it further in the tournament than ever before, as well as hosting its first playoff game.
"This team wasn't as talented as last year's, but they started jelling at the right time and I really believe they gave it all they have," Titans coach Sylvester Patterson said.
Wilbur Lake led the way Friday with 19 points, while Dominique Polite scored 16 and pulled down 10 rebounds for a double-double, and Justin Wilcox added 13 and Tyrel Frazier contributed 11.
Albany Tech, which lost all three meetings to Middle Georgia this season, actually led at halftime, 40-34, but a 12-0 run by Middle Georgia after halftime was the beginning of the end for the Titans, who couldn't stop Carl Hall's 32-point night.
Middle Georgia also outrebounded Albany Tech, 50-33.
