DWS BOYS, GIRLS TENNIS SWEEPS BROOKWOOD:

Deerfield Windsor swept Brookwood in tennis Tuesday, winning the boys match 5-1 and taking the girls match 3-2.

The DWS boys got single match victories from Tyler Mason, who beat Land Pope, 6-0, 6-1, Reid Wright, who beat Trey Jones, 7-5, 6-2, and Dallas Margeson, who beat Chase Flowers 8-4. Brookwood's Rand Pope beat DWS' Beau Sinyard, 8-2.

The DWS boys won both doubles matches: Kevin Cheshire and Robert Newsome beat Alex Carico and Chase Flowers, 6-1, 6-1, and Matthew Jones and Nasser Rizvi beat Trey Collins and Kyle Hunter, 6-2, 6-2.

The DWS girls won all three doubles matches: Sarah Kitchen and Hope Kitchen beat Mary Claire Courtney and Kathyrn Drew, 6-1, 6-0. Mary Virginia Higan and Sarah Barge beat Emily Drew and Leigh Stauffer, 6-0, 6-0. Lucy Kelley and Flannery Burt beat Mary Claire Courtney and Karen Drew, 8-2.

Broookwood's Hannah Notari defeated Ansley Arrington, 6-1, 6-0, and Brookwood's Paige Hawkes defeated Grace Allen, 6-4, 6-4.

The DWS boys are now 4-1 and the girls are 3-2. They play Tiftarea at 4 p.m. Thursday at ABAC.

WESTOVER BOYS TENNIS ROUTS PEACH COUNTY:

The Patriots blanked Region 1-AAA foe Peach County thanks to three wins and two forefits.

Matthew Cannon won his match at No. 1 singles 8-0, while Elliot Nelson won at No. 2. Westover's No. 2 doubles team then routed its opponent, 8-0.

The win moves Westover's record to 4-2 overall with another region tilt against Crisp County coming up next.

"We're making some progress, but right now our wins haven't been against very strong teams," Patriots coach Alton Bentley said. "But hey, a win is a win."

ALBANY HIGH BOYS TENNIS WIN FIRST MATCH, GIRLS FALL TO 0-2:

AHS tennis split with Region 1-AA foe Early County as the boys won 5-0, while the girls lost, 3-2, in a tightly contested match that featured a marathon three-setter between No. 1 girls singles players Tulsi Jetha of Albany and Laura Meeks as Jetha won, 7-6 (7-1), 5-7, 7-6 (13-11).

"It was quite the match," Albany coach Herb Miller said. "I was surprised at how they both played. It was a great match."

At No. 2 singles, Early's Natalie Thompson defated Krishna Patel, 6-1, 6-4, but Albany's Jasmine James came back and beat Jessica Merritt, 6-0, 6-1 to give the Squaws a 2-1 lead heading into doubles play.

At No. 1 doubles, Brianna Meeka/Hannah Houston (EC) defeated Kelsey Swords/Ashley Edwards, 6-2, 6-4. Then at No. 2, Brooke Simpson/Kayle Harrell (EC) defeated Khushbu Patel/Mariah Crapps, 6-2, 6-3.

The boys match, meanwhile, was an Albany rout for its first win of the season. At No. 1. Corey Edwards defeated Aaron Harrell, 6-1, 6-2, followed by four more Albany wins, including: No. 22. Sid Desai def. Tyler Kimbrel, 6-1, 6-0; No. 3. Alex Price def. Randal Ellis, 6-1, 6-0; No. 1 doubles 1. Charles Norvel/Sohum Jetha defeated Chris Pierce/Eddie Sherman, 6-1, 6-0 and No. 2 Dante Williams/Theodore Gregory, won by default.

LEE COUNTY GIRLS SOCCER CRUSHES AMERICUS, 10-0

LEESBURG -- The Lee County girls routed Americus-Sumter on Tuesday, 10-0, behind goals from Carson Taylor (3), Rachel Hatch (2) Lindsey Crawford, Kristi Sheridan, Haley Cimino, Kelly Polk and Nicole Polk.

The Lady Trojans' record improved to 4-1-2.

The Lee boys also won, but no details were available.

WESTOVER BOYS SOCCER ROUTS WORTH COUNTY:

The Patriots got goals from Danny Brown, Sagar Patel, Cory Walter, Pete Morton, Aakash Patel and Ben Fowler, along with assists Gavin Parr, Bridger Ferrell (2) and Sagar Patel.

The Patriots' record improved to 4-1 with its only loss coming to Lee County. Westover's next game is Thursday at Perry.
