Jailers graduate certification course

ALBANY– Detention officers from a 46-county swath of South Georgia graduated from a certification course at the Dougherty County Jail Friday.

The course is designed to educate the jailers on a variety of topics including legal and ethical issues associated with the job, Sgt. William Brock said.

“This training will help these officers better learn how to deal with the situations they’ll face with the inmates on the job,” Brock said.

The training was done in conjunction with the South Georgia Police Academy in Tifton.
