Police/Fire/EMS for March 16, 2010

ALBANY -- Albany Police Department officers responded to at least 36 incidents Sunday, according to reports. The incidents included:

-- Domestic disputes (unfounded) on the 2300 block of Jim Stokes Court, the 2100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, the 600 block of West Residence Avenue, the 600 block of Cotton Avenue and the 900 block of Lippitt Drive;

-- Thefts by taking on the 500 block of Swift Street and the 100 block of South Jefferson Street;

-- Criminal damage to property on the 100 block of South Slappey Boulevard;

-- Criminal trespass on the 700 block of Georgetown Road, the 1100 block of Avalon Avenue and the 500 block of Williard Avenue;

-- Simple battery on the 500 block of West Lincoln Avenue;

-- Disorderly conduct on the 600 block of North Washington Street, the 800 block of Rood Street and the 1500 block of Clark Avenue;

-- Entering autos on the 1000 block of Clark Avenue, the 600 block of Sixth Avenue, the 2400 block of Slappey Boulevard, the 700 block of Eighth Avenue, the 600 block of West Third Avenue and the 1200 block of Rawson Drive;

-- Possesion of marijuana on the 400 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;

-- A wanted person (probation violation) on the 900 block of Leisure Court;

-- Shoplifiting on the 1000 block of West Gordon Avenue;

-- Burglaries on the 2500 block of Cherokee Drive, the 900 block of Peacock Drive, the 800 block of Cedar Avenue, the 600 block of 16th Avenue and the 100 block of School Street.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County Police responded to at least 18 calls and six incidents Saturday and Sunday, according to reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Criminal trespass on the 1800 block of Cordele Road;

-- A wanted person (open container) at the intersection of McKenzie Road and the Liberty Expressway;

-- Traffic arrest (speeding, open container, suspended license, obstruction and possession of marijuana) on the 1500 block of Skylark Avenue.

ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to 29 calls during the weekend, including shorted electrical equipment, three vehicle accidents, one smoke removal, one vehicle fire, six activated alarms, one cooking fire, a smoke scare, one trash fire, one gas leak, one animal rescue, one grass fire and two EMS assists.
