ALBANY -- A woman's body was discovered at an Albany motel Monday night, but police haven't said publicly how she may have died.
The woman was found at the Dollar Inn on North Slappey Boulevard just after 7:30 p.m. Monday night, police officials say.
The Albany Police Department has launched a death investigation and, as a matter of protocol, are working the investigation as if it were a homicide until evidence suggests otherwise, APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks said.
Police do have what they've referred to as a "person of interest" in custody but say that no charges have been filed. They have not released that person's name, nor that of the victim.
