Police/Fire/EMS - March 24, 2010

ALBANY -- Albany police responded to at least 48 incidents Monday, according to available police reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Aggravated assault. Police investigated the stabbing of an intoxicated man on the 1500 block of West Third Avenue. Sam Rodish, 47, suffered a puncture wound to the right side of his neck, a police report stated. When officers arrived, Rodish was lying face down next to a vehicle, the report added. He was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment, said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman. Rodish was discharged from the hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said. The case remains under investigation.

-- Theft by taking two tires from two Chevrolet Impalas on the 1700 block of North Slappey Boulevard;

-- Theft by taking $600 from a business on the 2200 block of Gillionville Road;

-- Battery on the 700 block of Andover Drive;

-- Theft by taking a handgun on the 2300 block of Alameda Lane;

-- Aggravated battery on the 300 block of Acorn Street;

-- Burglary on the 1600 block of North Jackson Street, the 700 block of West Society Avenue and the 100 block of West Society Avenue.

-- Entering auto on the 700 block of West Fourth Street, the 1800 block of Pineneedle lane, the 2100 block of Edgewater Drive, the 2300 block of 12th Avenue, and the 2100 block of Robinhood Road;

-- Assault (family violence) on the 600 block of Johnson Road and the 1500 block of Georgia Avenue;

-- Domestic (unfounded) on the 1400 block of South Jefferson Street and the 300 block of Sixth Avenue.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least nine calls, according to police reports.

Police responded to incidents including:

-- Vehicle search on the 100 block of North Westover Boulevard resulted in a warning for window tinting;

-- Battery simple (domestic violence) on the 3900 block of Fleming Road.

DOUGHERTY EMS: Emergency medical services responded to 78 calls on Monday. There were 63 medical calls, 13 trauma calls and two other calls. Medical calls included, 10 chest pains, 10 respiratory problems, two nausea/vomiting, one fainting, six diabetic complaints, five seizures, one mental problem, four miscellaneous pain calls, one stroke symptoms and 22 various medical. Trauma calls included five vehicle crash injuries, four falls, an eye injury, two lacerations and one fights/assaults.

LEE SHERIFF: Lee County deputies responded to at least 14 calls Thursday through Tuesday, according to police reports.

Deputies responded to incidents including:

-- Drunken driving, reckless driving and driving with suspended license on the 800 block of Lovers Lane;

-- Traffic stop resulting in an arrest for possession of marijuana and MDMA (Ecstasy) on the 1900 block of Philema Road;

-- Two thefts on the 2800 block of Ledo Road;

-- Theft on the 700 block of Groves Springs Road;

-- Death investigation, natural causes, on the 1500 block of US 19;

-- Terroristic threats on the 200 block of Creekside Drive;

-- Terroristic threats on the 200 block of Creekside Drive;

-- Theft of a $230 black Tec 9mm-caliber handgun with a $20 holster on the 100 block of First Road.
