ALBANY, Ga. -- The case could be a nominee for the dumbest criminal prize if the suspect is found guilty.
A man carrying a cash register walking away from a dry cleaning business at about 4 a.m. Saturday was arrested, an Albany Police Department report stated.
Apparently the cash register was one of two stolen from Nancy's Cleaners at 408 North Magnolia Road, the report added. An undetermined amount of cash was also taken, the report added.
Kenny Guest, 45, was arrested in connection with the theft and charged with burglary and possession of tools for the commission of a crime, said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman.
Guest is in Dougherty County jail with no bond set, a jail spokeswoman said.
"Officers patrolling the 1600 block of Gillionville Road heard glass breaking. They discovered a broken window at Nancy's Cleaners," Banks said. "They then observed a suspect carrying a cash register toward the 400 block of Edgewood lane. Shortly thereafter the suspect was arrested in the 400 block of Baldwin Drive."
