Pedestrian killed in Liberty Expressway crash

An e-mail from Albany Police Department Spokesperson Stephen Butler recieved minutes ago states:

On May 6, 2010 at approx. 1:16 a.m., a Hispanic male subject was walking in the westbound lane of the 120 block of Liberty Expressway. While in the northern-most part of the westbound lane the pedestrian crossed paths with a Southeastern Freight Line truck driven by Jason Adkins, 38, from Jasper, Al. The male subject was struck and killed by the tractor trailer. The name of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification. No charges have been filed against the truck driver. The investigation is still ongoing.
