Slappey hit-and-run possibly road rage

ALBANY, Ga. --The driver of a 1999 Honda Passport sports utility vehicle could be a survivor of road rage.

Craig Youngblood's SUV sat upside down in front of Ford Town of Albany in the northbound-traffic lane of North Slappey Boluevard as Albany Police Department officers directed motorists around it. The wreck happened about 8:20 p.m. and was a case of road rage, Youngblood said.

The black SUV sustained smashed windows and heavy damage to its fenders, front and roof from its crash with what Youngblood described as a white minivan.

That minivan was nowhere in sight.

"The driver of that minivan honked at me back at the light. I guess I wasn't going fast enough," said Youngblood, 29. "He pulled up right beside me and was cussing at me. Then he sideswiped me and took off. I don't know where he went. I was upside down."

Youngblood spoke as he stood next to Albany Fire Department firefighters who had arrived to aid him. He had apparently refused the help of Dougherty County EMS personnel.

No further information on the crash was immediately available.
