Police/Fire/EMS - May 20, 2010

ALBANY, Ga. -- Albany police responded to at least 57 incidents Tuesday into the early hours of Wednesday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Burglaries on the 2700 block of Doncaster Drive, the 400 block of West Lincoln Avenue, the 200 block of East Oakridge Drive, the 700 block of West Society Avenue, the 400 block of South Shadowlawn Drive and the 200 block of Valencia Drive;

-- Theft by taking a resident's medicine on the 1800 block of Melrose Drive;

-- Entering autos on the 2400 block of Dawson Road, the 2200 block of Nottingham Way, the 2300 block of Downing Court, the 2300 block of Sharon Drive and the 2200 block of Stuart Avenue;

-- Arson in the first degree: a vehicle fire on the 2300 block of North Davis Street;

-- Missing adult on the 2000 block of Tompkins Avenue;

-- Drunken driving on the 200 block of Loftus Drive;

-- Simple assault on the 500 block of Pinson Road;

-- Simple battery on the 700 block of Cotton Avenue;

-- Financial card fraud on the 2000 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;

-- Theft by taking, felony, on the 300 block of Valencia Drive;

-- Simple battery (family violence) on the 200 block of Mock Road;

-- Simple assault (family violence) on the 1100 block of Gillionville Road;

-- Domestic disturbances (unfounded) on the 800 block of West Mercer Road, the 1300 block of Sharon Drive, the 200 block of Cordele Road, the 800 block of South Shadowlawn Drive and the 1300 block of Cromartie Beach Drive.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County Police responded to at least 13 calls Tuesday, according to reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Criminal trespass; someone cut a 4-foot section of hog-wire fence resulting in $100 in repairs on the 100 block of Branch Road;

-- Disorderly conduct involving neighbors cursing and a dog urinating on a neighbor's yard on the 3200 block of Higgins Drive;

-- Domestic violence (verbal) involving a man who returned home to find the locks at his house changed by his wife. Divorce papers were delivered by the Dougherty County Sheriff's Office soon after the man arrived home on the 4500 block of Wildwood Court.

DOUGHERTY EMS: Emergency Medical Services responded to 55 calls on Tuesday. There were 39 medical calls, 13 trauma calls and three other calls. Medical calls included three chest pains, eight respiratory problems, one nausea vomiting, two people fainted, one altered mental state, one diabetic complaint, two seizures, one obstetrics call, two mental problems, five miscellaneous pain calls and 13 various medical calls. Trauma calls included one vehicle crash injury, seven falls, one laceration, two eye injuries and two fights/assaults.

ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to 11 calls Tuesday including a vehicle fire, a public service call, two smoke scares, four activated alarms, a power line down, unauthorized burning and a false alarm.
