OK ... maybe not quite yet.
The Peach State League of independent baseball, which is entering its first season, announced its open tryouts this week for the 2010 season at 9 a.m. on June 6 at Luther Williams Field in Macon.
Anyone interested in trying out must meet the requirements and must sign a liability waiver. There is a $50 fee to try out, and advanced registration is required. All candidates must check in at 9 a.m. and the tryout will begin at 10 a.m. Players interested in trying out are expected to bring their own equipment, including workout clothes, gloves, bats and catchers equipment.
In the event that tryouts are postponed due to inclement weather, they will be rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Monday, June 7.
Interested candidates must meet the following criteria:
*** Must be 23 years of age or younger
*** Must have college baseball playing experience
*** Can have minor-league experience as long as they meet the age requirement.
Position players will run the 60, go through infield/outfield drills and play in a game, and pitchers will throw in a game.
