ALBANY -- The last time Georgia football coach Mark Richt was in Southwest Georgia, he spent his 50th birthday with a cake and hoards of well-wishes from Albanians as the guest speaker of the Albany chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
On Wednesday, he'll be back again -- only likely with a slightly different type of fan fare.
The Albany chapter of the Georgia Bulldog Club will host Richt at Doublegate Country Club, featuring a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by the club's annual program, organized by president Dee Matthews, an hour later.
Most Bulldog Club tours around Georgia this summer have also included Georgia men's basketball coach Mark Fox. However, Matthews said Fox would "be out of the country" during the timing of Wednesday's event, and thus wouldn't be able to attend. In Fox's place, however, will be assistant hoops coach Kwanza Johnson, who came with Fox to Athens after serving as an assistant under Fox's former team in Nevada last year.
