ALBANY -- The Albany chapter of the Georgia Bulldog Club will host Georgia head football coach Mark Richt at Doublegate Country Club today, featuring a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by the club's annual program, organized by Albany president Dee Matthews, an hour later.
The event is free to the public, though Matthews said the Albany Bulldog Club is always looking for new members to join. Membership for one family is $10.
Today's visit by Richt will mark the second time this year he's been in Southwest Georgia in an official capacity. The longtime Bulldogs head coach was last in town Feb. 18 -- his 50th birthday -- as the guest speaker on behalf of the Albany chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Most Bulldog Club tours around Georgia this summer have also included Georgia men's basketball coach Mark Fox. But Fox is currently out of the country and is not able to attend.
In Fox's place, however, will be assistant hoops coach Kwanza Johnson, who came with Fox to Athens after serving as an assistant under Fox's former team in Nevada last year.
For more information, call Matthews at (229) 436-7390.
