TIFTON, Ga. -- The body of Sunday Blombergh was discovered Thursday, said David Haire, Public Information Officer for the Tift County Sheriff's Office.
Blombergh's family has been notified of the discovery and authorities said that more information about the investigation will be available today at a morning news conference in Tifton.
Haire said Thursday evening that the Tift County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are still acquiring information regarding Blombergh.
According to police reports, the 28-year-old mother had not been seen since the morning of April 22. Family members said Blombergh was planning to move from Tifton to Tallahassee, Fla. with her 7-year-old daughter when she disappeared.
Blombergh's daughter was not at home at the time of her mother's disappearance and authorities have said she is currently staying with family members.
Several searches for Blombergh were conducted throughout the Tifton, Thomasville and Tallahassee areas since her disappearance.
