ALBANY, Ga. -- Two men were cuffed in Albany and sent back to Selma, Ala. to face capital murder charges for killing a 3-year-old boy, said Albany Police Department Gang Unit officials.

Following a call from the U.S. Marshals Office to the Gang Unit, a multi-agency police detachment went at about 11 p.m. Wednesday to several homes on the 400 block of Alice Avenue, a police report stated.

At a residence they arrested Johnny Lee Dukes, 29, and Michael Darshun Hunter, 24, for shooting Rosjah J. Butler dead, on Selma Police Department warrants.

"Officers from Selma came and picked up their property on warrants for murder and left," said Albany Police Gang Unit Lt. Tony Moore. "The arrest went without incident."

Another man was arrested for possession of marijuana during the arrest, Moore said. He would not release the man's name.

A Selma police investigator said that his agency is taking out warrants on Kenyada Dukes for harboring a fugitive.

Dukes, 23, is in Dougherty County Jail on possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, a jail spokeswoman said.

There are two others under arrest in connection with the murder in Selma. Brandon Lewis, 24, and Aaron Harris, 23, are in Dallas County Jail with no bond, according to the website selmatimesjournal.com.

The four men made statements to Selma police that related them driving in a green Dodge Intrepid past a house at 1411 Church St.

According to the website, Johnny Lee Dukes pulled a gun and began shooting at the house.

"A slug from a weapon pierced the wall of the house into (Rosjah) Butler's bedroom, where the toddler stood by the bed," the website stated. "Butler suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest."

The Dougherty County Sheriff's Office and the Dougherty County Police Department also took part in the arrests.
