DOUGLAS -- Game One of the GISA Class A baseball championship series Friday was halted after just one inning due to lightning.

Crisp Academy took a 1-0 lead over Citizens Christian in the top of the second when Leesburg's Les Cromer doubled home Robbie Wright.

Game One will be resumed in the second inning at 11 a.m. today with Game Two of the best-of-three series to follow.

If a Game Three is needed, Crisp Academy head coach Brett Freeman said it may be played Monday. More rain is in the forecast for today.

"I hope this doesn't turn into the Deerfield-Tattnall series," said Freeman, referring to last year's GISA Class AAA baseball playoff series that lasted a week due to weather delays. "We'll try to duck and dodge it (today)."
