ALBANY, Ga. -- A driver of an SUV swerved to avoid another vehicle, lost control of his 2001 Montero Sport SUV and crashed at about 2:20 p.m. Saturday, an Albany Fire Department official said.
"There were three people on the vehicle," said Battalion Chief Marty Leverett. "All were taken to a hospital with minor injuries."
The SUV was headed south on Liberty Expressway and crashed about a mile south of the Jefferson Street exit, Leverett said. Traffic was backed up for about a mile, he added.
The area was cleared by about 3:15 when emergency personnel left the scene, Leverette said.
No other information was immediately available concerning the crash.
