ALBANY — A woman died from injuries sustained in a car crash Monday morning.

Ebonie Stokes, 25, was driving a Nissan Sentra eastward on the 1700 block Oakridge Drive near Willie Pitts Jr. Road.

A Florida Rock & Tank Lines semi, driven by Tony Deangelo Jenkins, 36, pulled out of a fuel depot on Oakridge at which time he began traveling eastward.

Stokes hit the rear of the semi and died on impact. Investigators say she was wearing a seat belt.

“The case remains under investigation,” said Albany Police Department spokeswoman Phyllis Banks.

As of midday Monday, officials had yet to decide whether to file charges.

The call for the accident came in at 7:40 a.m.
