Albany woman re-indicted in shooting death

ALBANY, Ga. -- An Albany woman indicted last month on felony murder charges has been re-indicted by a Dougherty County Grand Jury on malice murder and aggravated battery charges.

Marlina von Hamilton, 33, was originally indicted Oct. 14 for felony murder and aggravated assault in the Oct. 12 shooting death of her ex-husband, Christopher Donaldson, 32.

Authorities said at the time that Donaldson was shot in the chest and groin areas. Sources close to the investigation told The Albany Herald that Donaldson was shot lengthwise through his penis.

Albany police had been called to von Hamilton's residence three times in October on domestic violence complaints. Police labeled the first two -- 8:30 a.m. Oct. 1 and 11:40 p.m. Oct. 11 -- as unfounded, meaning there were no visible signs of an altercation.

Police observed Donaldson leaving von Hamilton's residence at 2414 Habersham Road late on Oct. 11, but he returned shortly after midnight and was shot.

In the first two domestic violence reports, von Hamilton was listed as victim and Donaldson as aggressor. In the shooting incident, Hamilton was listed as aggressor.
