ALBANY, Ga. -- A clerk at a convenience store on the 400 block of Westover Road called police to report a suspicous man just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Homer Johnson was lucky the clerk spotted him, police said.
Johnson, 69, wearing tan pants and jacket, suffers from dementia and had been missing, stated an Albany Police Department e-mail.
He had apparently wandered away from the care center he calls home before 7 p.m., said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman.
"He was last seen heading west on Oglethorpe Boulevard after he walked away from an adult care center on the 700 block of Oglethorpe Boulevard," Banks explained further.
Johnson was returned to his Adult Care Center later Wednesday.
